MIRV Guidelines

The Mobile Visitor Resource Vehicle (MIRV) gives priority to county sponsored and co-sponsored events and locations and organizations who support the Experience Chesterfield and Play Chesterfield mission. Other organizations will be considered based on scheduling, staff availability and reflection of the mission.

To be considered events must:

  • Meet the above referenced mission to reflect promotion of Chesterfield County
  • Draw a noteworthy number of attendees
  • Be outdoors, or have an outdoor component
  • Request and provide planning time no less than two weeks prior to the event
  • Ensure proper space needed to accommodate the vehicle and all associated elements
  • NOTE: We do not pay vendor fees and appear as a service to the community to which we serve

MIRV is not available for the following:

  • Events that are political or sensitive in nature or in conflict with the county or MIRV’s mission
  • Fundraising or marketing opportunities for agencies, families or individuals
  • Events that solely benefit religious events

Additional Needs:

  • There will also be times where staff will not be available for the vehicle, but supplies can be made available to event attendees.
  • Space needed – 30 X 14
  • Height – 10’
  • Total activation space required – 420 sq. ft.
  • MIRV is best suited away from speakers and sources of loud music and portable restrooms
  • MIRV cannot be guaranteed for multiple days at one event.
  • There will be times where MIRV will be dropped at a location in advance of an event and may need to stay past the conclusion of the event.
