Welcome to the Fiscal Year 2026 Tourism Annual Report. This past year marked another transformational chapter for Chesterfield, Virginia, as we continued to strengthen our position as a premier destination for sports, visitation and entertainment while remaining focused on what matters most: creating opportunities and experiences that enhance the quality of life for our residents.

Tourism remains an important driver of Chesterfield’s economy, supporting local businesses, creating jobs and generating revenue that helps fund community priorities. Yet our approach has always been about more than attracting visitors. We believe tourism should serve as a catalyst for community development by creating memorable experiences, fostering community pride, supporting local businesses and helping deliver amenities and opportunities that benefit residents for generations to come.

Over the past several years, Chesterfield has embraced a resident-first philosophy that recognizes the powerful connection between visitation and quality of life. By strategically investing in our community, strengthening our identity and creating exceptional experiences for residents and visitors alike, we are building a destination that reflects the values and aspirations of those who call Chesterfield home.

I am especially grateful for the dedicated team behind Experience Chesterfield and Play Chesterfield within the Sports, Visitation & Entertainment Department. Every day, they work to showcase our community, support our local businesses and partners, create memorable experiences for residents and visitors, and help position Chesterfield as a first-choice community and destination. Their passion, creativity and commitment are reflected throughout this report and in the continued success of our county.

This report reflects not only the progress we have made, but also the partnerships that make that progress possible. We are grateful to our residents, businesses, community organizations, elected officials and countless partners who continue to support our vision and help shape Chesterfield’s future.
