Look, we’re not always the best at planning ahead. Life’s busy! But we do know that dads and father figures should be celebrated and spoiled on Father’s Day! So if you’re looking for something to do for dad, take a look at these ideas.
Brews, Bites & Tunes
On top of the usual craft beer and food menu, take dad to Steam Bell Brewery’s Root (Beer) with Dad where non-alcoholic handcrafted root beer will be on tap. Plus, add some ice cream to make a root beer float! If dad’s looking for more, stay for food trucks and other beers on tap including their newest hazy IPA, Swift Creek Lager, Lime Lager, and more! Have a foodie on your hands? Check out Taste of India, celebrating traditions and showcasing cultures with a day full of fun, food, and performances! This free event, held by the Cultural Center of India Virginia, is held annually, and aims to bring the community together to enjoy Indian culture and heritage. In addition to tasting Indian cuisine, dad can enjoy musical and dance performances full of energy and passion!
Explore the Outdoors
Chesterfield is home to some of the region’s best public golf courses so if dad is on-par, be sure to spoil him with a tee time at one these public golf courses!
Chesterfield is home to 67 parks so if dad hits them in the rough, consider planning an outing full of fresh air, views of nature and loads of outdoor fun. Parks like Dutch Gap Conservation Area is known for some of the best birdwatching in Virginia. Offering 4.5 miles of trails, any dad who enjoys the great outdoors will appreciate this beautiful trail! While you’re there, you can visit Henricus Historical Park where you can step back in time through historical interpretation and reenactments to experience what was once Virginia’s western frontier.
If Henricus Historical Park isn’t enough history for one weekend, take your history buff to Mid-Lothian Mines Park to enjoy a peaceful wooded walk that leads to the Grove Shaft Runs, the headquarters of mining operations dating back to the 1700’s.
Get Dad Out of the Kitchen
If dad needs to stay out of the kitchen (iykyk), check out one of Chesterfield’s forty pickleball courts. Dink responsibly!
Regardless of what you do to celebrate dad’s special day, we hope he has a Happy Father’s Day! And as always, feel free to share your photos and tag us at @ExperienceChesterfield on Instagram and Facebook.
