With its southwestern border neighboring a large portion of Pocahontas State Park, the Dale District exemplifies all the active lifestyle opportunities available in Chesterfield, featuring an exciting array of outdoor amenities. In addition to what Pocahontas State Park has to offer, local county parks feature additional trails and outdoor recreation amenities.
Key Attractions
Harry G. Daniel Park
Dale is home to the Harry G. Daniel Park at Iron Bridge, a 187-acre that hosts thousands of baseball, softball and football athletes yearly on its numerous fields.
Spend a day with family and friends playing pickleball or horseshoes, and get your steps in on the park’s trails and walking track. The park’s picnic shelter is the perfect place to enjoy lunch while the kids have fun on the playground.
Mary B. Stratton Park
For people looking to stroll, stop by Mary B. Stratton Park, which features a paved, 10-foot-wide, nearly half-mile long walking trail for bicycle and pedestrian use. The park is near Ukrop Park and SwimRVA, and is the perfect place to unwind in between games.
Catch some fireworks and fair fun
The Dale District plays host to one of the region’s most spectacular fireworks displays each Fourth of July. The celebration also features a children’s inflatable area, food vendors, arts and crafts competitions, music and more.
